What is oral surgery?
Oral surgery encompasses a wide range of procedures performed in the oral cavity. A combination of diagnostic skills and precise surgical techniques ensures the success and predictability of the procedures, always considering the patient’s comfort and needs.
Oral surgery procedures performed at Perident:
At the PeriDent Centre of Dentistry and Periodontology, we perform a full range of dental surgery procedures, such as tooth extraction, removal of impacted and wisdom teeth, removal of broken or carious roots, root apex resection, hemisection and radectomy, and taking samples for histopathological examination.
Atraumatic extractions to minimize the loss of bone and soft tissues, which facilitates future implant placement and allows for aesthetic restoration of missing teeth in prosthetic treatments.
Surgical extraction of impacted wisdom teeth or other teeth that need to be removed for reasons such as recurring inflammation or necessary treatment for prosthetics or orthodontics.
When a tooth’s root is so damaged that restoring the crown is no longer possible, the root is removed.
A surgical procedure to remove the apex of a tooth’s root when a periapical infection is present.
Removal of the diseased portion of a tooth, with restoration performed on the remaining healthy part using either conservative or prosthetic methods.
Removal of a tissue sample for histopathological examination to diagnose any oral mucosal changes, including possible oncological concerns.
